A woman in a pink sweater gently kisses the forehead of a young child lying in bed with a nasal oxygen tube and medical tape on their face, wrapped in a white blanket.

You don’t have to carry it all on your own. There’s support here from people who get it.

Behind every appointment, hospital stay, or medical decision is a parent carrying a heavy load. When your child has a disability and complex medical needs, the pressure can be constant and support hard to find.

At Belongside Families, many of our staff and families are parents of children with medical needs. We understand the juggle, the emotions, and the need for support that works around your reality—whether you’re bedside, at home, or in between.

High medical needs community group

Our private Facebook group is a safe, supportive space for parents of children with high medical needs. It’s a place to share experiences, offer encouragement, and connect with families who understand the realities of frequent hospital stays, daily care routines, and complex medical supports. It’s a safe and supportive space that focuses on sharing lived experience-not medical advice.

Join the Medical Community Group

A community where medical families feel seen, supported, and connected—because no one should face complex care alone.

What parents are saying

A woman and a young boy sit on a green couch, smiling and laughing as they hug and play together. The boy wears a striped shirt and shorts, and the woman is dressed in a yellow top.

I love that Belongside Families is run by passionate and inspiring families that understand what it’s like to have a child who is medically fragile with disability.   I have learnt things, been inspired and encouraged by Belongside Families on so many levels. I wish I had Belongside Families in the early years of navigating our child’s life.
